love jar.

Okay, so I have to admit that I had a different post planned out, but last night our power ended up going out until midnight (which somehow caused my child to wake 4 or 5 times throughout the night) and today I spent prepping for a garage sale that my friends and I are having and I ended up throwing out my back!

I am exhausted, but I am still going to share with you a fun little idea that my friend Suzy and I came up with together awhile ago.  We each created a jar full of romantic/fun ideas that could be done anytime, and any day.  The best part about it is that if you or your spouse feel like you want to surprise your the other but you don't have any ideas, it's super easy to just grab a slip of paper from the jar and do what it says...and you know it will be something that they/you will love!

Sorry about the blurry pics!  :(

You can make your own!

All you need is:
a glass jar (a mason jar would work)
two different colors of paper (we used red and blue)
marker(s)
a list of romantic or fun ideas (one list each for you and spouse)
scissors or a paper cutter

First, cut two different colors of paper into strips (about 1/2-3/4 inch thick).

Then, on the strips of paper, write down the ideas that you came up with.  Here are some examples of ideas that I used for my jar.

"Give him a foot massage."
"Send her flowers for no special reason besides that you love her."
"Leave him a love note."
"Make her a mix CD." (with songs meaningful to your relationship)
Fold the paper strips and place in the jar.

Cut a piece of paper to fit around the outside of the jar, and on it write the following instructions.

Love Jar
Instructions
1. Choose a paper strip from the jar... husband chooses red, wife chooses blue. (or whatever colors you have chosen)
2. Follow directions on paper and get creative with it!
3. Remember to keep it a secret! :)

Embellish to your likeness and tape the paper in place.

Choose a paper strip to complete for your spouse right now!  Have fun and be creative!

Way cute idea!! There is a book similar to this that I got at my bridal shower. I can't remember excatly what its called, but its something like 101 Ideas for a Romantic Night (something to that affect). Anyway it's by Laura Korn and is way good. It's full of fun and creative ideas for both him and her to do. Some are more expensive than others, but most are free and just fun.
