biggest loser {week two}.

The past weeks challenge was:
Start exercising. 30 minutes of continual exercise at least 3 times a week.

I lost nothing.  In fact, I gained a little over a pound! :(  I weighed in at:
137 lbs

Don't worry, I'm not giving up that easy!  I am trying to work out every day (not just the 3x a week like the challenge says).  I know what my problem is... I am gorging myself on the junk food in my house right now, because I know I will have to cut it out in a couple weeks!  LOL!

This weeks challenge is:

Watch what you are drinking. Cut in half the amount of soda and juice you drink. (if you can't stop altogether).  Increase how much water you are drinking.  Decrease or stop alcohol and coffee (and stop cream and sugar in your coffee).

This one might be a little more of a challenge for me.  No!  Not the alcohol and coffee part!  :)  Ha Ha!  Just the drinking enough water.  I looked up on the Mayo Clinic website about the Health benefits of drinking water.

"Water is your body's principal chemical component and makes up about 60 percent of your body weight. Every system in your body depends on water. For example, water flushes toxins out of vital organs, carries nutrients to your cells and provides a moist environment for ear, nose and throat tissues.
Lack of water can lead to dehydration, a condition that occurs when you don't have enough water in your body to carry out normal functions. Even mild dehydration can drain your energy and make you tired."

It's taking me a bit of self-control and little nudges from my husband to get up in the morning and workout because that is the only time that I can do it.  It also makes me feel better throughout the day when I exercise in the morning.  It's crazy how your energy gets zapped being a Mommy!  I KNOW I need to drink more water, so maybe doing it will help me have a little more energy too!

You're doing great, Laura! Keep it up! Maybe you're just gaining more muscle. Next week, you'll lose a couple of pounds, I know it!

I agree! The first week or so that I start working out hard I always gain a little bit of weight in muscle mass, but I bet you'll be surprised how drinking all that water will help shed the pounds :) Plus you won't retain water because you're body is continually getting it :) Good luck!
