Who doesn't love the book The Rainbow Fish?
Here is an art project that was fun to do with my 2's after reading the book.
Materials: construction paper cut out in the shape of a fish, several colors tempura paint, paintbrush, a square or two of bubble wrap.
Let your child paint on the bubble wrap, with their fingers (sensory!) or a brush, then place the fish upside down on top of the bubble wrap to make a "scale" print. If you want you could have them glue tinfoil pieces onto the fish after the paint dries for more of a "Rainbow Fish" effect.
